Dez Bryant – Asleep at the Wheel?

Jason Cole, Yahoo! Sports Writer, posted an interesting piece a few days ago on top WR prospect Dez Bryant. A quote in the article from an unnamed source:  “I wouldn’t draft that kid unless I had someone to wake him up in the morning to get to meetings, someone to wake him up for practice and someone to wake him up for games.” Cole cited another source, saying Bryant was “consistently late to team activities…included showing up late for games.”

It does seem odd that Bryant hasn’t heard of an alarm clock or some sort of schedule he could refer to. I’m guessing the phone he was getting from boosters last year wasn’t new enough to include an alarm or organizer. Shame on you, boosters!

I can imagine Bryant, lounging in his dorm on Saturday, flipping through the channels, finally finding an Oklahoma State Cowboys game to watch.

And then realizing he should have been in the stadium to warm up for that game three hours ago.

After missing 10 games last year for lying to NCAA investigators, any team would be mistaken (wasteful? irresponsible? stupid? brain dead? comatose?)  to pick Dezzie in the first round.

Which guarantees Bryant will be picked by the Oakland Raiders at #8.

I Heart Brett Favre

Read this gem on a message board the other day…

“…but I have had a few of them get really angry or really concerned about my football fandom. The most memorable incident was when this girl told me to just go have sex with Brett Favre since he does more for me than she does.”

He at least could have picked a younger, more attractive chap like Reggie Bush, Adrian Peterson, or Suzy Kolber. The only thing worse than having a hetero man crush is having a hetero man crush on someone who could be your father.
